Family Fun Day has been and gone, not over-bearingly busy either - a nice steady flow of customers. It was also my favourite cafe co-worker's last day today. I returned the books she lent my like To Kill a Mockingbird and The Kite Runner and was very grateful that she wanted me to read them so I bought her a going away present in the form of some good quality coffee from the marketplace.
With no grand plans for the evening, I did something I don't do very often at all: re-watch a film... by myself. Frequently I watch films again with friends, but the experience is totally personal and gratifying on occasion when you re-watch something you hold very dear to you, and in this case it was Woody Allen's Manhattan, which is pretty close to perfection in almost every way.

Tidying the... tomorrow
Room tidying is on hold for the day due to... lazyness. BUT deserved lazyness. Long, long ol' day at work thanks to us doing a lot of preparation for the dreaded family fun day tomorrow. And big boss is down, so no pressure, right? Just been present scouting on Amazon and adding things to my own personal wish-list for my Birthday which is coming up soon, weird to think that I will be 20 in a little over 10 days.

Room tidy, part 3
The storage boxes arrived while I was playing games with a relative (not going to hazard a guess as to the official term for this person, the closest I can come up with is Nephew, but that doesn't quite sound right.) I have crammed most of my consoles and electronics into one box so far so it's all going well and my room is looking barren and sparse.

Tidying out the room part 2
After a very literal team bonding exercise involving carpeting and floor glue that got on absolutely everything I returned home, vacuum in hand. I have been putting off this one corner of myy room for as long as I can remember. It's the little space around the foot of my bed. A few years back I took it upon myself to clean everything under my bed but was perpetually petrified of uncovering a mammoth spider of sorts. Fortunately none showed up then, but I still never tackled that small corner... until today.
Moved out my historic PC (still runs Windows 1998) to uncover some damn thick webs the vacuum made quick work of. And I had to get Louis to move a few things so as not to be potentially ambushed by the critters, but I uncovered not a single one! Room is looking noticeably spacious today, tomorrow I will clean the remaining clutter on top of drawers.

Tidying out the room part 1
My bank holiday was predominately spent doing a massive personal project Tidying out my room. I bought a half-dozen of storage containers online yesterday, and while I wait for them to arrive I have been throwing stuff out or tiding up miscellaneous bits and pieces. The job is a big one though, and I have a tendency to pull everything out mid-clean, making my room feel smaller and claustrophobic. After cleaning, and dusting for a while I need to go out of the messy room into a large space to stop me from feeling cagey.
So today was spent cleaning up the various DVD's and electronics of mine. My entire TV section is now absolutely gorgeous and I plan to sort out my other 'piles' as the week goes by.

Bigger Brolly
Grey skies means lots of rain. Walked outside when it begun pouring, looked at my pocket-brolley and unironically said to myself 'We're gonna need a bigger umbrella.' So the samurai sword brolly was taken into work today, but not without completely breaking halfway through my journey, so I binned it en-route. 2 seconds later I picked it back up again after convincing myself that I could fix it.
After a very slow day at work, I was met with a mountain of stuff on my landing, all of it mine. So I grabbed two bin bags and filled them up with crap I thought I would need/want 5 years ago. And boy does it look significantly better from where I was standing.

Is it going to be busy?
Sitting in my PJ's this morning, playing some Payday 2, looking forward to my day off after a lengthy day yesterday. Phone starts vibrating, text asking if I can come into work. 45 minutes later I'm rocking and rolling back in the cafe since we all thought it would get horrendously busy thanks to the mean looking clouds. Turns out, they were all bark and no bite and the sun begun to shine through, evaporating our customers and my sense of purpose for being at work. I was sent home luckily enough to get to Daniel's 'Well done for getting into Uni' BBQ which was lovely. Had a very good evening just kicking back and enjoying myself in the company of my friends.

Return from Slovakia
I have returned from a lovely holiday in Slovakia. Funny to think, the last time we went there was around 10 years ago and the whole of it was covered in snow. Now its just a beautiful country with very cheap beer and fun mountains to climb. Just had a whole day of traveling - got to sit by the puking children on the way back today - so now I am quite tired and will probably get to bed early to face work tomorrow.

Doughnuts and coffee = no no
First thing I saw when I got up was last night's mints from my film night, and while it seemed like a good idea at the time, I do not entirely endorse mints for breakfast. Oddly enough, I did try something else for the morning meal. After my typical bowl of cereal I tried a doughnut with an espresso. I've seen police in American movies dunkin' doughnuts in coffee and all that but something was seriously very off this time as my mixture tasted similar to hoisin sauce in my mouth - not the first flavour I want in the morning.
Pink Moon
Leaving things behind is not a habit I am terribly used to. But today, everybody was doing this and I was fortunate enough to offer various belongs back to their gratified owners.
Firstly, walking to work resulted in me slowly being behind a pair of younger girls, clearly on their way to some form of dance practice at school. One of them so happens to drop their black vest by the subway so I picked it up. This did however make me feel incredibly socially awkward as I was essentially carrying women's clothing (borderline under-garments) in public for a about a minute. Handing it back I just kinda mumbled and walked very quickly away from them; at least they were pleased with me handing it back.
Other bits and bobs were also lost at work, jackets, keys and cash. Inbetween all of this, a little girl bumped her chin rather badly, leaving a small graze the size of a fingernail. I immediately got an ice pack for her and offered a plaster, but the latter was lost as the lady was saying something to her daughet about 'How the man probably doens't know any first aid.'
I was pretty offended by this statement. So offended that I rose up to it, grabbing the first aid kit and slapping on a pair of vinyl gloves to assist the injured person. Showed her that I knew a thing about first aid! I wiped the wound, plastered it up, I even offered bedside manner, saying she was brave and could have a glass of water.
And now, I have just finished listening to Pink Moon while sat on the hammock watching the meteor shower - so all-in-all, it's been a good day.

Sleepy Greasey?
Lot of dogs barking this time of night. Straining my ears is only causing more confusion. I can hear the musical numbers from Grease being played somewhere off in the distance really rather loudly. What's up with that? No idea why I am so tired either, good night's sleep for the past few days, work wasn't especially strenuous. I have been drinking a lot more iced coffee recently, perhaps I am crashing after not getting another 'fix' of sugar and coffee, guess I need one for breakfast now.

Back Behind the Wheel
Been a little while. In fact if I remember correctly, I haven't had a driving lesson since it last snowed and I fell out of that skip and knackered my arm. That feels like years ago now but I was surprised by how much of the information and driving techs stayed in my head. New driving teacher this time around and shed is much better suited to me I feel, I actually enjoyed having the lesson with her and I'm already eager to get back behind the wheel.

Loud and Violent
Had the house almost to myself this morning. Louis was still at his party at 8am so I was free to make as much noise as I wanted to at that time in the morning, this meant Pikmin at full volume! That was until I realized that I should probably clear the living room of last night's festivities before my parents came home from Bournemouth. Rounding off my evening with Dan and Ben playing Mortal Kombat and gawking at the high-definition violence that is unfolding before our eyes.
Friendly work-time conversation
Work today was so dead it was actually kinda unique at one point. I had so little to actually be getting on with I was invited to sit and chat with a customer after I made her a cheese salad. We started chatting about making videos and editing on Final Cut Pro - somehow it ended with me saying yes to dressing up as a cow in Newbury highstreet. Just another one of those days I suppose. Evening was rounded out with a long over-due viewing of The Green Mile, a film that just seems to get better with repeated viewings. The tissues I bought especially were put to very good use in the final parts of the film. Many, many tears were shed.

Dreaming of Pie
After the social fiasco that was last night's dinner, Louis and I decided to eat our steak pie at the same time. I called him up at lunchtime to tell him this and to get it all ready for when I am about to come home. A few hours pass and I'm really hungry, literally I am having glorious, gravy filled visions of this pie so I text Louis to put it in the oven - he replies saying it takes a whole hour in the oven. My hunger would have to continue a while longer.

What a pants evening
Amazon Prime... You kinda let me down on that whole 'Next day delivery' thing. Meticulously planned out my evening during the duration of my shift. I would get home, eat dinner with Louis, watch a film and then tuck in to Pikmin 3. Louis made himself an omelet and was content with buggering off as soon as I got home and my mail hadn't arrived. Truly a disappointing evening, though somewhat numbed by Maid in Manhattan. Not numbed in a conventional sense, but rather my very being was doped by the colour the numbers romantic-comedy, with very little of the latter and a nearly non-existent former.

Sleepy worky coffey
Silly Theo. You need more than 5 hours sleep if you are working the next day. The film night we had went on for a bit longer than expected last night and I had to make breakfast for Jamie this morning before heading off into a not very busy day again. Torrential rain due for Monday. As soon as the long, hard day is over I will relish the new game in my Wii-U collection: Pikmin 3 when it arrives tomorrow. That'll boost my total number of Wii-U games from two to three, only took 8 months for this 50% increase.

Tundra style espresso
My boss knows that I am a coffee fan. Recently he has become interested in making new coffee drinks based on youtube videos and was especially excited to try out this new one he found with me. Sadly the recipe was rather naff. Take coffee shot, add ice, shake and serve... So what? Who the hell wants to drink a cold cup of espresso? So after that travesty he asked me to come up with my own original concoction, something that may even become our signature drink - I'll have to get my thinking hat on.

Sick buddy
Came into work today, my co-worker is stood in front of me. Pale a a sheet, stooped low as a sloth and sleepwalking through the motions. 'I'm sick, Theo.' Man did I feel guilty, having been with this guy for the past week I think I may have given him the early stages of my vomit-inducing illness. So we sent him off home to be with his 3DS and his bed like a saint and I took the reigns of another slow day. Supposedly we will be getting a heck-ton of rain tomorrow after this glorious day - I ain't sure if that'll be happinin' though. Sky's look awful clear.
