Waves of Coffee
Had one of those days at work where you start fantasising about what to say to your manager as you slap down a letter of resignation. In my head it'd go something like The Smiths' Frankly Mr Shankley but I don't think I could write something that scathing and self-deprecating. Day dreams of sitting at home and working on writing projects filled my imagination as I looked upon heaving queues of Easter Holiday kids streaming into the shop. I felt like a young boy at the beach, looking hopelessly at a swelling wave three times my height, knowing full well it would sweep me up and fill my nose with salt water. I braced myself for impact with the thirsty hoard of customers, even with a slightly incompetent team member at my side, I knew the pain would only be temporary and I'd live to fight another day.
