Little Women
Finished watching the Switcher TV show, went to look at furniture and headed to the cinema to watch Little Women with Rebecca, and you know what? It's one if the best films I've seen in a fair old while. Greta Gereig just makes it look so easy, threading multiple characters and timelines together yet it never for a single second lost sight of the story's focus. Scenes between the four sisters bouncing off each other have an unmatched sense if authority and energy that eventually becomes infectious - scenes like this are quickly become Gerwig's calling card. Then you have the astonishingly good soundtrack that feels classic with enough flourishes to be distinctive, its all too easy to get swept up in the sounds and transported into the world of the film. Though its a costume drama, it ruled by the ambitions of it's characters and watching their lives unfold was simply enchanting.
