The familiar sound of a new hire car being dropped off pulled me out of bed. (Technically, it woke Rebecca up as she was the one who got up to answer the door at God-early in the morning). Got me a little Ford Fiesta now, haven't had the chance to take it for a test drive yet, but I'm looking forward to driving in something a little more zippy and compact.
A perk of lockdown easing is a fuller social calendar. For the first time in seemingly forever, Rebecca and I headed over to Mark and Lucy's for a classic dinner night. Mark's slow cooked beef tacos were something to behold, and luckily, that's also what he considered his belated Birthday gift from us. We got him a copy of the board game Wingspan which he pumped his fist with glee upon unwrapping. He was such a keen bean we played a game right there on the spot which took us into the small hours of the evening. Felt so incredibly normal to be doing the things we love with our friends once again - such a good little evening.
