Laced up my walking boots and firmly fitted my bobblehat - it's hiking time! Our friend recently discovered a new route to explore around Lynmouth and Lynton (in truth, any footpath you follow in the area will yeild terrific results) but this one took us high up over the town. Even the Valley of Rocks looked like a spec on the horizon, something I could reach out, pick up and put in my pocket. We passed a small handful of fellow walkers, but for the most part we were totally alone. I kept thinking what we'd look like to people on the ground level, probably like Gore-tex wearing mountain goats.
