Made it down to the beach. Pity the Sun didn't quite get there too but we made do. Rebecca and I read on the sand til the sunshine just about poked out so we took that opportunity to dash into the sea. Well, we didn't so much dash as timidly wade in while making chimpanzee noises as the cold water hit new spots on our skin. We got over it and had a good paddle though - might be my first and only time in the ocean this year.
Picking up from yesterday on the topic of Bournemouth traditions, a new one I'm in the process of making is 'Theo goes to the Korean Supermarket, buys a bunch of stuff and tries to make a meal out of it.' It always yields fun results. I wanted to make a noodle broth bowl tonight so I did my usual steps while adding a Pho stock cube to the noodle water. Said cube must have had some mighty thickener in it though because when it came to serving up it all kinda emulsified to the noodles, like an Asian Carbonara. It wasn't the vision, but it still tastes jolly good.
