Opened up the coffee shop with very little fanfare. It felt like Christmas day with how sparse the streets were looking, we didn't really have any food to sell either so I think I got the measure of how the virus will affect sales going forward. Many customers came in for 'one last coffee' before shutting themselves away for the long haul, perhaps a smidge fatalistic if you ask me, but they were reading the Daily Mail...
Returned home with a bottle of milk and gave a call to my parents, got the thumbs up from them and heard they were doing alright. Dad even boasted about buying a new board game, very much looking forward to trying it out with them once this all blows over.
