Hidden Cake

My specialty in production has always been in Birthday prep. So many times I've collated celebratory bits and sung the special song to colleagues, it never stops feeling nice though. Best part about being in a small office with an even smaller team is coordinating the card to be signed and the birthday cake for set up. Ducking into empty rooms to avoid the Birthday girl is par for the course, but we've all got it down to a fine art, the anticipation of a caper well conceived is worth savouring. All the secrecy is worth it seeing the surprise on the recipients' face and the humble realization of all the hidden work we put in behind the scenes become transparent in their eyes. We did good today.
