That *should* be the last of this year's Christmas shopping. I headed once more towards the bustling high streets of Bristol to gather up the outliers on my list, scratching them off one by one until I only had a heavy rucksack left to contend with. Back home I nursed Rebecca back to health after her booster jab made her feel incredibly ropey. It was the least I could do after she tended to me to fervently.
She felt right as rain by the evening though, just as well because Louis and Rachel opted to cook us dinner. Their house has a mouse who has taken lodgings, so they used our kitchen to prep a nice wintery meal. Good time with friends, by the tree and a roaring fireplace, felt like an honest precursor to Christmas Day.
