The Birthday girl and I headed over to our breakfast reservation for a full Scottish breakfast. That's all the usual trimmings but with black pudding and a potato scone - all the fuel we'd need to go and do one of Rebecca's favorite things: go second hand book shopping. Edinburgh is rich with bookshops and we had a blast visiting some of the very best in the city. From the shelves of Tills to the ladder-ladden Toppings, we saw it all. Only cats are better than books in Rebecca's eyes, so we stopped by at the city's only cat cafe which boasts a Chinchillan Persian, Norwegian Forest cat and even a hairless sphinx... The latter of which perched on Rebecca's shoulder during our visit.
Walking back to our Air B&B we got an ice cream (despite the freezing temperatures). As is customary we watched a film of Rebecca's choice too and The Cat Returns was the flick lucky enough to get played on my phone for an audience of two. I hope Rebecca had a lovely Birthday away - one to remember for sure.
